Coconino County Sheriffs Looking For 15-Year-Old Runaway

On June 27, the Coconino County Sheriff's Department released more information regarding the disappearance of Mercedes Saenz.

According to a press release, on June 18, the day of her disappearance, Mercedes walked up to a home in Red Lake, Arizona, where she asked the couple living there for some water and a ride into Williams, Arizona. After she informed the couple that her mother was in Williams, the couple gave her a ride to the Quality Inn.

While Mercedes was at the Hotel, she asked staff how to get to Phoenix; staff provided

her with phone numbers for both taxi and shuttle services. A citizen also informed

officials looking into the case that they saw Mercedes hitchhiking in Williams and provided her with a ride to Ashfork, located west of Williams. Mercedes was last seen walking toward the Interstate 40 and Highway 89 Junction in Ashfork.

Mercedes has been known to use multiple names, and may use Takyra Jamerson or Jane Saenz. Officials believe that she may have hitchhiked from the Ashfork are to Phoenix, where she has contacts.

Mercedes is African American with brown eyes, and recently changed her hair color to bleach blonde. She stands 5-foot-f and weighs 110 pounds. She was last seen wearing green camouflage pants, a green or tan hoodie, and a black backpack. She may be carrying or holding a teddy bear.

RED LAKE, AZ - A 15-year-old girl is missing after having runaway from her home in Red Lake, which is located north of Williams, according to the Coconino County Sheriff’s Office.

Mercedes Sanez was last seen at the Quality Inn in Williams on Tuesday, June 18.

Authorities believe she may be attempting to get to Phoenix.

Mercedes goes by the nickname 'Takyra', is African American with brown eyes, and recently changed her hair color to bleach blonde. She stands 5-foot-f and weighs 110 pounds.
