Page Resident Indicted On Charges For Distributing Video & Photos In Online Child Porn Group

Ashley Iverson, of Page, was arrested by federal agents on Friday, April 12 for her role in an online child pornography group, where she is accused of sharing videos and photos depicting child pornography.

According to documents filed in Arizona District Court, the group was identified by an officer working with the FBI’s Child Exploitation Task Force in the Washington, D.C. area. The group was a public group on the website and social media app, KIK.

For those who don’t know about KIK, it is a social site which allows users to search for public groups related to specific interests, allows users to be invited to private groups, and provides users with a high level of anonymity from other users (this reporter signed up for it to see what it was about).

In February, the officer was invited to join a private child pornography group. The officer stated in court documents that when they first joined the group, there were over 50 members, and by the end of March there were 36 members that remained in the group. Court documents identify six individuals; five of whom, including Iverson, were the most active.

Iverson is the only person from Arizona that has been identified in court documents. Other locations of members include California, Colorado, Alabama, and Florida.

One member was identified in court documents as being a current registered sex offender for a previous conviction related to child pornography.

Iverson is accused of distributing and conspiring to distribute child pornography. According to court documents, Iverson is quoted as saying she has links, after which Iverson provided links to the group which contained several hundred videos and photos, depicting children as young as infants being sexually abused. Court documents do not indicate whether or not Iverson was the creator of the content she shared.

At the time of her arrest, Iverson was on supervised probation after pleading guilty to possession of methamphetamine in July of 2018.

Iverson is currently in custody awaiting federal extradition to Washington, D.C. Iverson’s arraignment was held on Monday, April 15, 2019, and her extradition hearing is scheduled for later this week.

LPNN reached out to the Page Police Department regarding their possible involvement and cooperation with this investigation, and we were informed that the Department will not comment on cases that are being handled by other agencies.
