The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) reports that Daniel M. Friedman is recalling almost 170,500 Universal rechargeable power banks due to a fire hazard.

CPSC has said the power banks can overheat, which is causing a fire hazard. The company has received three reports of the charger overheating, including one report of a house fire which caused around $150,000 in property damage.

The power banks were sold at retail stores nationwide, including Burlington, Kohl’s, and Ross between November 2016 and January 2019.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled power banks and contact Daniel M. Friedman & Associates to arrange to return the product for a full refund.
