Butterball Recalls Over 39 Tons Of Ground Turkey

Butterball is recalling approximately 78,164 pounds of ground raw turkey that may be contaminated with Salmonella, according to the Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS).

All products under the recall have a sell or freeze by date of 7/26/18, and were shipped to retailers nationwide. The products bear establishment number "EST. P-7345" inside the USDA mark of inspection.

The FSIS is concerned that these products may still be in consumers’ freezers and are urging that the product be thrown away or returned to the original place of purchase.

The FSIS and other health agencies have been investigating a salmonella outbreak in two states which as sickened at least five people.
