Data Breach Hits Over 50 Arizona Businesses

A number of Arizona businesses were affected by a data breach that occurred in early January, which was discovered by North Country Business Products when they found suspicious activity.

The company provides point-of-sale hardware and software for businesses. During their investigation into the activity, they determined that an “unauthorized party was able to deploy malware to certain of North Country’s business partners restaurants between January 3, 2019 and January 24, 2019” which allowed the collection of payment data from customers including the card holder’s name, the card number, the expiration date, and the CVV.

Several restaurants in Flagstaff and other Northern Arizona locations were affected. Collins’ Irish Pub, Someburros, Salsa Brava, Market Bar & Kitchen are just some of the restaurants that were affected in Flagstaff. The list contains more than 50 businesses throughout Arizona, and more than 120 locations around the country.
