New Police Chief Candidates Meet-and-Greet

Since Chief Balkcom’s abrupt departure in December of last year, Lt. Lange has been the interim Chief while the City has been seeking the right candidate to fill the position.

The City of Page has finally narrowed down their search down to two candidates: Jeffrey Wood from Maryland, and Drew Sanders from Utah.

Prior to making their final decision, the City is hosting a community meet-and-greet next Wednesday, February 20, from 5:30pm until 7:30pm to speak with both candidates.

UPDATE 02/13/2019:

After speaking with City of Page City Manager, Mike Celaya, both Lieutenants Lange and Jones were encouraged by the City to apply for the Police Chief position. However, both decided it was not the right time for their careers.

Mr. Celaya stated that both Lt. Lange and Lt. Jones "...are heavily involved in the hiring process and on the interview board."
