Attention all filmmakers: a new film festival is making its debut in Kanab Utah in April of this year, and they are seeking submissions. The event will be from April 11 to April 13.

Films can be nearly any length and type, and judging categories include “Student,” “Utah Filmmakers” and “Open.” Submissions are expected to come from all over the world and will be presented to audiences of ages 12 and up. Additionally, the Kanab Film Festival plans to feature a guerilla shorts competition where short films will be created during the festival with the top submissions being shown at the final presentation and ceremony.

Filmmakers may submit any film that has been completed after January 1, 2015. Entries will still qualify even if they’ve been submitted to other festivals, but there are restrictions.

Prizes will be awarded and judged in four categories “Best in Show”, “Best Student Film”, “Best Utah Film”, and “Audience Choice”.

Film submissions are being accepted through the festival's website.

For additional details about the festival, submission requirements, and fees, visit KanabFilm.com or email.
