First Meteor Shower Of 2019: Quadrantids Meteor Shower

This week, starting tomorrow night, the first meteor shower of 2019 will occur as the Quadrantids reach their peak.

According to EarthSky, the best time to catch the shower is late Thursday, January 3 until around dawn Friday, January 4.

The best part about this shower is that there will be no moon. The moon will be in in its new moon phase, unlike the last meteor shower where the moon was full.

Experts at the International Meteor Organization are predicting the peak of the meteor shower to start around 02:00 Coordinated Universal Time on Friday, January 4, or 7pm Thursday, January 3, MST.

However, this is just a prediction, and the best thing to do is step outside and take a look for yourself.
