Farm Linked to E. coli Recalls More Produce Amid Further Contamination Concerns

The farm in California health authorities were able to identify as being one of the sources of the E. coli outbreak related to Romaine lettuce, has announced a voluntary recall of other produce amid concerns they may also be contaminated with E. coli.
Adam Bros. Farming Inc. sent out a news release on Thursday, stating cauliflower, red leaf lettuce, and green leaf lettuce harvested between November 27 and November 30 is being recalled due to possible contamination concerns.
According to the company's December 13 statement, none of the produce in this voluntary recall have tested positive for the specific strain of E. coli.
The cauliflower was distributed to wholesalers in ten states: Arizona, California, Illinois, Louisiana, Maryland, North Carolina, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, and Pennsylvania. It was also distributed in Tijuana, Mexico and Canada.
The red and green leaf lettuce were distributed in California, Colorado, Oregon, Texas, Pennsylvania, Washington, and Canada. Red leaf lettuce was only distributed to one wholesaler in Minnesota and Tijuana, Mexico.
Adams Bros. Farming stated this recall was initiated due to the discovery of sediment in a reservoir near where the produce is grown tested positive for E. coli. The farm is concerned that the water from the reservoir may have come into contact with the produce after harvesting.
The company and health officials are urging consumers to either take the produce back to the place of purchase or to throw it away.
