Jimmy Dean Sausage Recall

CTI Foods LLC is recalling just over 29,000 pounds of frozen, ready-to-eat pork and poultry sausage links.

The Kentucky-based products may be contaminated with pieces of metal, according to an

announcement made Monday, December 10, 2018 by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service.

According to the release, the recalled products are the 23.4-oz. pouches of “Jimmy Dean HEAT ’n SERVE Original SAUSAGE LINKS Made with Pork & Turkey” with a Use By date of Jan. 31, 2019. The product bears case code A6382168, with a time stamp range of 11:58 through 01:49.

The products under the recall have establishment number “EST. 19085” on the back of the product packaging.

The products were shipped to an establishment in Tennessee where it was further delivered to retail stores.

According to the release, the FSIS was notified yesterday that the company had received five consumer complaints regarding metal pieces in the sausage links. There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to eating these products.

The FSIS is urging those who have purchased the recalled products to either take them back to the store of purchase or to throw them away.
