Three Arrested In Flagstaff And Sedona Vehicle Burglary Ring

Last week, on November 29, the Coconino County Sheriff’s Office arrested three suspects involved in a vehicle burglary ring in Sedona and Flagstaff.

The investigation began on November 20, 2018, when officers responded to three separate vehicle burglaries in the Timberline neighborhood, north of Flagstaff. Several items were taken from the vehicles including credit cards and firearms. The credit cards were used at local businesses in Flagstaff.

Then in the early morning hours of November 29, Sedona Police Department officers responded to a report of a burglary at Thai Palace in Uptown Sedona. Three suspects were seen fleeing the scene leaving a vehicle behind.

Officers were able to obtain information at the scene identifying the suspects as 18-year-olds Kaiden Cox, Jonathan Hernandez, and Hipolito Zavala Molina. Detectives were also able to obtain information linking the suspects to the vehicle burglaries in the Timberline neighborhood on November 20.

Then in the afternoon of November 29, Coconino County Sheriff’s Detectives arrested the three suspects at their homes. Multiple stolen items were recovered from the suspects’ homes including firearms, vehicles, and electronic equipment. Among the items recovered by officers include items relating to additional burglaries within the City of Flagstaff. All three were arrested and booked into the Coconino County Jail on charges connected with the burglaries. Cox was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. All three suspects are each being held on a $25,000 bond.

The Coconino County Sheriff’s Office is reminding everyone when leaving their vehicles unattended, to ensure they lock their vehicles and place valuables out of sight.
