National Day Of Mourning - December 5, 2018

President Trump has designated tomorrow, December 5, as a National Day of Mourning in remembrance and honor of President George H. W. Bush, the nation’s 41st President, according to a statement released by the White House on Saturday.

President Trump and the First Lady will be attending George H. W. Bush’s funeral tomorrow at Washington National Cathedral.

Memorial services for President Bush began yesterday and will take place for four days until he is laid to rest in Texas on Thursday, December 6.

President Bush passed away Friday, December 1 at the age of 94 at his home in Houston.

For the day of mourning, all federal government offices, Nasdaq and the New York Stock Exchange, the Federal Reserve, Congress, Bond Markets, some banks, and the U.S. Postal Service will all be closed tomorrow.

This is the first day of mourning for a former president since Gerald Ford’s death in 2007.
