Over 1,000 Breweries Join Sierra Nevada In Camp Fire Relief Efforts

Over 1,000 craft brewers across the United States are making the same beer. This is unheard of in the brewing industry. Craft brewers making the same beer as everyone else is unprecedented since each brewer prides themselves on their ability to make beers that stand out from the crowd. These brewers are joining together for an excellent cause: to help those affected by the Camp Fire in northern California.

Sierra Nevada Brewing Company reached out to every brewery throughout the U.S. last week to join in its fundraising campaign to help all who were affected.

Sierra Nevada and the participating breweries starting brewing a special IPA yesterday. The

beer is called Resilience Butte County Proud IPA, and Sierra Nevada has been working with suppliers to donate the raw ingredients necessary to make the beer. Sierra Nevada also provided the recipe to each participating brewery so there is consistency in quality and flavor no matter where you go to find it.

Sierra Nevada will be brewing 2,000 barrels of Resilience. 100% of the proceeds Sierra Nevada receives from the sales of Resilience will be donated to the Camp Fire Relief Fund. The company is asking that breweries, who will only have the beer on-tap, do the same.

According to the latest update, the goal is to have the beer available on the shelves and on tap by late December.

A total of 23 breweries from Arizona, several of which are based in Flagstaff, and 2 from Utah have joined in on the cause. If you want to know which breweries are participating, Sierra Nevada has a running list on their website. The company also has a link to a searchable list that shows the location of each brewery if you are wanting to try it out once it has been released.

The Camp Fire burned for 17 days, starting November 8 near Sierra Nevada's Chico brewery, destroying a total of 240 square miles, and taking the lives of at least 88 people.
