This morning, there was a two vehicle crash at the intersection of South Navajo Dr. and Lake Powell Blvd. Initial reports are a car traveling east down Lake Powell Blvd. ran a red light striking a truck heading north on South Navajo Dr.

The collision caused the truck to turn onto its side and slide to a stop just short of the sidewalk at Big John’s Texas BBQ.
Thankfully, there were only minor injuries with an elderly woman taken to the hospital for observation.

The Page Police Department is currently on scene investigating the crash. Coconino County Sheriffs are out aiding in traffic control.
Page Police Department is using its new 3-D crime scene scanner to get a better understanding of how the accident occurred. This is a recent purchase, and according to Detective Miller, who was on scene, this is the fourth time since its purchase the Page Police Department has used the scanner. The scanner’s accuracy with distances is less than the width of a credit card, allowing for highly accurate measurements necessary for accident reconstruction. The scanner takes 3-D images of scenes allowing detectives to view the scene on a computer from all angles, including from above using satellite imagery.
Currently both directions on the north side of South Navajo Dr., at Big John’s Texas BBQ, is closed to 7th Ave. and will be open once the vehicles have been removed and police have completed their on-scene investigation. In the meantime, please find an alternate route, and be safe and careful while on the road.
