On July 23rd a Multi-Agency rescue of an injured man in the Chevelon Canyon area near Telephone Ridge went better than expected. Due to the subjects preparedness, he was able to build a shelter and stay alive and well after injuring his ankle in the canyon.

The injured man set off his personal locator beacon shortly after he was injured and realized he could not make it out of the canyon on his own. His beacon alerted the US Air Force Rescue Coordination Center, who then notified the State of Arizona of the incident. Search and Rescue personnel then used radio direction equipment to track down the location of the beacon.
The Search and Rescue personnel worked together with the USFS and DPS Air Rescue to safely transport the injured man to a hospital in Payson.
This is a perfect example of great teamwork and inter-agency cooperation, along with someone being prepared.
LPNN would like to congratulate everyone involved for a job well done, with a great outcome. And to remind everyone who loves and explores the outdoors to always be prepared.
