Dominic Bravo Fundraising

Help Support a Local Family:

On June 19 while heading back home to Page, Dominic Bravo and his sister were rear-ended by a tow truck. Sadly, on June 22, Dominic passed away. The week prior to the accident, his father had suffered a stroke, and was still in ICU at the time of the accident.

Dominic’s mother, Sabrina, has been having to grieve, make funeral plans, and take care of her injured daughter, all without the support and help of her husband, Johnny. Thankfully, she was able to convince the hospital to let Johnny out of ICU long enough for him to say goodbye to Dominic before Dominic was taken off life-support.

Dominic was 12 years old, and had not even begun to live his life or understand what his full potential could be. Friends say he was a really good kid and was fun to be around. He will be greatly missed.

Early this morning, his friends headed out to Wal-Mart and set up tables full of donated baked goods to help raise money for Dominic’s family during their time of need. There were cupcakes that could be purchased by the container for $4, banana bread, brownies, cookies, cinnamon rolls, and even cupcakes that were made to look like unicorns. Most of the baked goods came from teachers and the mom of one of Dominic’s closest friends.

When speaking with Tony (the dad of one of Dominic’s friends, Jacob), he tells me that the experience of raising money for the Bravo family has been very therapeutic for Dominic’s friends; Jacob was a close friend of Dominic’s, in fact, he said Dominic, Jacob, and their friend Calitri were the Three Stooges; always having fun, goofing around, and hanging out together. However, this isn’t just a friend helping another, Jacob’s younger siblings, ages 7 to 11, are helping out too, so it is a family affair.

Dominic’s parents work at Big John’s Texas BBQ, and the staff there have been helping the family as well by donating portions of their tips to help with any expenses.

If you can’t make it to Wal-Mart before everything melts, is sold, or Tony and the kids shut down, you can still help the Bravo family. There are donation jars located at several businesses throughout Page: Fred’s Liquor, Ace Hardware, Red Mesa Gas Station, Dollar Tree, Family Dollar, and All American Fuels. All the monies being raised are going to the Bravo family. Please come out and support a local family with costs that parents should never have to experience: funeral and final hospital expenses for their child.
